Enjoyable... except that it is the second tournament in which I have experienced and witnessed unfavourable and unbecoming behaviour from a certain individual player. It is embarrassing and upsetting.... such a person should be cautioned/warned.

I think these tournaments needs to be rethinked. I am not a pro player and haven't played plenty of these matches either but I see the dwindling numbers, and the same faces over and over again. I propose that the tournament be done differently. Take the first two days with the entry level players and do qualifying rounds in a round robin format, maybe reduce matches to 2 sets and 10 point tie breakers, fast and furious tennis. Then only the winner/s of qualifiers progress to the Saturday and Sunday in playoffs against coaches and highly ranked players. This means top players don't have to waste time playing beginners and they get into strenght to strenght matches from the outset. In addition to this I propose that you split the singles and doubles tournaments all together. Some doubles specialist have to wait ages to play one match a day. Have it on a different weekends for the doubles lovers only. In that way you can also split the entry fee to something more reasonable and affordable. Ben10nis.

As always, Chantal, Laverne, Deidré and the rest of the team provided great organising and an enjoyable tournament through some tough weather conditions on Friday.
